How we check and score every operator
Nothing reaches our ranking without clearing a licensing check first. Here's exactly how that works, and how a licensed operator earns its score.
Step one: the verification gate

Check the public register
We search the Gambling Commission's public register for the operator behind a brand and confirm it holds a current, active Casino Remote licence — not a lapsed one, and not a licence for a different product like sports betting only.

Confirm the legal licensee
Brands and legal companies aren't always the same name. We note the actual licensee, its Gambling Commission account number, and how long that specific authorisation has been active.

Match the domain
We check that the website we intend to link to is the same domain listed against that licence on the register — not a similarly named copy or an unrelated site.

Confirm independence
We only list operators that are entirely separate companies from Chipway House. We have no ownership stake in, or shared control with, any operator we cover.
An operator that doesn't clear every step above simply doesn't appear on this site, regardless of how well-known the brand is.
Step two: the editorial score
Once an operator clears verification, we score it out of 10 across three weighted areas.
How long the operator's current casino authorisation has run without a gap, and how directly the licensed activity matches an online casino product rather than a different gambling category.
Whether casino sits at the centre of what the operator offers, or alongside other products such as sports betting, bingo or poker under the same account.

What we deliberately leave out
We don't score or advertise bonus amounts, wagering requirements, minimum deposits or withdrawal speeds, because these change frequently and are set entirely by the operator, not by us. Where we can't verify a specific figure at the time of writing, we describe things generally instead of guessing.
Re-checks
We revisit the public register and our own notes periodically. If an operator's authorisation changes, or if new information changes our read of a site, we update the score or remove the listing.
